    Default Colors of Handquilting Threads

Most of the time I handquilt with a kind of cream colored thread, white, or black.... I generally use the same thread throughout the quilt, especially if the backing is plan, or white.

This is the quit I am quilting now. The back is Kona White.... I am using a neutral thread... My stitches are small, and I like for them to disappear into the quilt.....leaving little indentions.

Well... I am having trouble keeping the very light thread from standing out...not all of the time, but enough to annoy me.....

My question is this: Would the back look messy if I used various colored threads that would blend into the quilt top. I know I can do whatever I want...it's my quilt, after all.....but I want this quilt to look as nice as possible... It us going to one of my great nieces.... Her sister will have a similar quilt....but the neutral thread was perfect for that one, and blended into the backing.

I have plenty if threads, and think I could find colors that would blend in with most of the patched.

    Suggestions? Advice?
