    Default Best Press

During a girls day out checking out our local quilt shops.....my friend introduced me to Best Press. I absolutely LOVE it. I am currently working on a red/white pinwheel quilt and there are a lot of seams. It presses them nicely and they stay so your quilt top stays nice and flat and putting it together and FMQ should be super easy.

I'll have to check this out. I've never used starch or starch substitute, do you just spray it on and run the iron over the top?
Not getting much sewing done lately. #Parenting

Best Press works great on those fabric folds that you want to press out. I use it a lot when pressing fat qtrs. I've been using for 4 yrs. I use the Clover Pen for thick, stubborn seams. JCY

Yes, Ryan...It's a liquid alternative to starch in a spray bottle.

Beautiful seams, works great on bias cuts to help hold fabric stable, gives fabrics body. Doesn't flake. Need to buy it by the case.

I'm with everyone! I just love Best Press, can't say enough good stuff about. I have never had problems with flaking.
I usually spray and then press my fabric before cutting and that seem to help me cut better. I just wish Best Press was a little cheaper.

I just recently made up a batch of starch from the recipe recently posted on the forum but haven't used it to much yet but I do like it so far. I'm hoping will I love it also because it would be much more economical to use. Hopefully some of the forum members that have been using this recipe for starch will let us know how they feel it compares to Best Press if they have used both.

I was watching a tutorial by the Fat Quarter Shop and the lady said to let the starch stay on your fabric for 2 minutes before ironing. I always just sprayed and ironed immediately, but I will give that a try next time. I definitely need flatter seams!

Love this stuff and buy it by the gallon. Not only does it help with the quilting seams and fabric lying smoother, it can't be beat for all my old scraps that are wrinkled or pre washed and need that extra umph!
