I really like the Best Press too. I do dilute mine with water, probably a 60-40 concentration. 60% Best Press, 40% water. I get the same results as I would get using it full strength and it helps it last a little longer and more cost effective too!

I dilute my Best Press as well. Probably 2/3 BP and 1/3 distilled water. I also got a gallon from Joann's online on sale last time. Before I would use a 50% off coupon and buy the quart bottle at Hancock fabrics. Much better prices than having to buy it at the quilt store.

It's one of my favorite products. If I spray it heavily on something I wait a minute or two for it to absorb before I touch it with an iron.
Well, you ladies have given many great tips for using the Best Press...I think I will dilute my bottle now. It makes me love it even more!

Hi! I've used the recipe for home made starch and also the blue bottle of liquid starch which I buy across the border at Walmart. Our walmart doesn't carry it...several quilters I know use best press...
SO!!! Can anyone explain which is better from their experience...does best press do anything differently from regular starch? As I have scent problems, I'm not likely to buy anything scented....just wondering
I've tried it, haven't noticed it doing anything. How much do you use? I've had a bottle kicking around by the ironing board for a couple of years. It doesn't leave any residue on the iron, so that's nice, but I haven't seen it take out any of those wrinkles you get on permaprest in the dryer. I usually have to spray wrinkles with water despite the fact I have a steam generator iron. I like permaprest muslin.
Do they sell unscented anywhere? I haven't seen it.
I have bought unscented at several places. One that I can recall is Sewing supplies, quilting supplies, embroidery designs. Also, I think I bought it on sale at Joann's. love it, love it, love it!
Not to brag, but I can still wear the same earrings I wore in high school!
