What goes with peach and mint green?
Peach and mint green are the colors for a wedding quilt I am doing (those are the wedding colors). I know i can go with white, but any suggestions on a third color to go with those two? I am so bad at putting colors together. I have been sewing for 45 years and probably have made everything there is to make with a needle and thread, so you'd think I'd be great at putting colors together, but I am not! It takes me longer to match colors than it does to make the whole project! 3 hours in Joanns the other day choosing fabric for pillows for my living room. I wanted Turquoise and browns....but what other color...and I came up with silver thanks to a print that had beautiful silver zigzags with turquoise and another with black (wanted brown but they didn't have it!)
Anyway, I am making a wedding quilt and I think burgandy and a shade of green would go with the mint, but not the peach. I dont' like shades of oranges, I dont like orange, so I dont' know (other than brown) what would go with a peach at all! I plan on choosing a block or two and constructing it with blocks but don't know which block yet...this will take me days to choose the right one... I am also bad at finding a block pattern that strikes me! I want unusual, not the ordinary, ergo my problem in finding what I want!
Anyway, I tend to chatter...what goes with peach (other than other shades of orange or brown) and what goes with mint (other than shades of green) IT is a wedding quilt for a early 20's couple (1st cousin, once removed - don't really know them but it is a good reason to make a quilt!) and she is quite the socialite and he is military reserves. THey like wine. The wedding is being held at a winery! Thanks for any suggestions. And if you have a cool block pattern to suggest...please...suggest away!
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
Royal purple goes dramatically and nicely with both. I wouldn't normally think that myself but I saw a quilt with those colors being pieced at the LQS Friday night and it was really pretty.
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
A pale teal or aqua would look nice, especially if you are going for all soft colors.
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
How about grey? like the picture frames on this page.

A deep forest green....maybe a coordinating print?

I was also thinking cream. But if you wanted to add a spark of color you could go with a fushia or a any color with a mix of orange and pink but as a bright.
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
Throw the peach & mint out the window and go with a nice print with wine & grapes and then coordinate the other colors from the print. The wedding colors are a nice thought, but from what you said in a previous post, they are really wine enthusiasts. There will be plenty of reminders of their wedding colors in other gifts and the photographs. This also means you don't have to sew with orange, I mean peach.

When you said those colors I immediately remembered coming across this blog post a while back and loving this color combination! This fabric bundle is super modern, and the colors all go really well with each other. Can't wait to see what you decide!

Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
I was going to suggest that you put those colors in a search for fabric in the shop search engine and see what layer cake or charm pack comes up. I've done that before.
But, also the vintage modern line had those colors and also red, grey and differerent shades of the peach and teals. .

Love grey with this color combo, but with that said, I agree with toggpine, I'd choose some wine colors.

Peach and Teal? What about a Navy color though I really like the thought of a grey. Cool website Lindsey, soft colors and modern looking fabric I liked that.
Good luck

Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
I think a hunter green would make the other color pop a little. If you don't want pop, I would go with cream or cream with a green print.
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
I would say brown or cream then maybe terra cotta and aqua
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
Whoaaa this is a great color website....I'd agree with the grey and dark green...would never have thought so til I checked out the website...Cool!
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
Peach (orange) and mint (Green) are secondary colors. The "other" secondary color is purple. So, in a triad color scheme, peach, green and lavender would work well together. Combine with a neutral grey, tan or taupe. I also like the suggestion to make a wine themed quilt.

or anything pastel really...
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
What about ivory ( vanilla ) or a tan fabric ? Sort of like Peaches & Cream ?
Re: What goes with peach and mint green?
I thought cream or grey also. Look at some Moda fabric by Joanne (?) Figueroa...not sure of her name. But she uses the name Fig Tree. She always has peachy, cream, aqua, etc. combinations with cream and I have some of her older fabrics and love the combinations.
