Quilting Pattern for Disappearing Nine Patch
On my third and final Christmas gift, the disappearing nine patch that I'd asked about earlier. Any ideas for quilting patterns for a disappearing nine patch? Here's the pic of what I have thus far.Attachment 63228 not the best pic but maybe you can get an idea from it

The brick red color is the outside border of the quilt
Re: Quilting Pattern for Disappearing Nine Patch
Pretty! I've made a few busy ones and you can barely see the quilting. Stippling looked good. Also on a couple I mentally divided each block into quarters and did a flower petal or leaf shape in each. I usually stick with whatever theme and make a floral or leafy vine in the border. If I stipple the middle, I stipple the border.

Agree I would keep the quilting simple and let that design Shine! It looks great so whatever you choose something simple? Sorry I love doing big squares and concentric circles (which are a fun way to make quilts not look "boxy")... Good luck, this turned out so pretty and I love the wine (burgandy on my screen) of the border!

Re: Quilting Pattern for Disappearing Nine Patch
It's only my 3rd quilt and so for me to think outside of straight lines is frightening!, lol. I can stitch in the ditch but think that would be dull.
I've never done free form quilting (not sure that's what it's called) so stippling scares me! lol Is there a straight/geometric design that people use that works well with the disappearing nine patch?

My 2nd quilt I did "concentric diamonds" - I know it sounds weird but it was diamonds outside to inside...that's concentric, right? My machine only has a nearly 7" opening so artistic quilting is difficult. Been looking at machines with larger throats but for now I have to work with what I have.

Since there are a lot of straight lines, I think a medium to large meander would be nice... It would introduce a softness.

That came out so pretty! I posted this a long time ago, maybe it will help.

This is one of Leah Days design. Maybe something like this but with lines much further apart
Love the colors in your quilt. It would be easy to use any of the colors for the quilting

I used a paisley pattern on my D9P quilt. It's easy to do and looks nice. I think Leah Day demo's paisley in one of her YT tutorials. JCY

thanks for the suggestion. I'll ck into it. I just purchased a Craftsy class on machine quilting large quilts and am watching that too.
