Default Some more ?? about Heat n Bond VS Pellon

I just got back from a shopping trip for fabric for the Dunkard's Path II Quilt I am going to do for my SIL. Many of you suggested Heat n Bond......and I found out that Jo-Ann's didn't have Heat & Bond in the light or featherweight today. The gal at the cutting counter talked me into getting lite Pellon .....I only purchased a yard of it, because I wanted to come home, and see what you all thought about it in the forum ( about the Pellon that is )

IF you don't use Pellon for the Dunkard's Path II ....I will just purchase the Heat n' Bond at WalMart when I go out on Wednesday......I am in not that big of a hurry. ( I actually need to wait for my Circle Ruler from my order with MSQC. Hopefully the order won't be too delayed due to the Christmas holiday.

Anyway, if you all use the Heat n Bond rather than the Pellon I understand. Thanks so much ! I am really excited about making this quilt. BTW, I am making it in Purple & White ( SIL fav colors is Purple & Lavender )

The only difference I have noticed is that the heat and bond seems to bond better. However I am working with small pieces of applique - it might be different for large pieces such as Drunkards Path. I've the same quilt in the same colors on my list by the way - my sisters favorite color is purple, so I'm hoping to finish for her birthday in July.

Thanks Doloris.....The gal at the cutting cutter said this Pellon was light....not feather weight, but she thought it was okay.
I noticed that MSQC has the Heat n Bond ( lite weight ) so I might just order a few yards of that. Not sure how many yards to order though. I am going to make a Queen Size Drunkard's Path II quilt.

Would 3-4 yards of the Heat n' Bond be enough ?

I am sure I can find other uses for the Pellon I have purchased today......

I've use Pellon's batting and their fusibles, and have never had a problem....
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

I prefer Heat and Bond and I have done tons of applique. (not all quilt related!) I have found that Pellon has changed over the years and it doesn't seem to bond as well and often bubbles for me. I think whatever works for you....as long as it stays adhered long enough to sew it down.
