Re: Designer 1 help
Kim, I have a Designer 1 and will help you as much as I can too. I never had any luck setting up lettering on the machine itself, it works much better with the software on your computer, set up your word or name and load it on your floppy. If you downloaded designs from the internet to use, you must have software to load it on a floppy?? Designs I have purchased on the internet have all been HUS version-some PES versions will work as well but not all of them, the only designs I have that are SHV are disks that I have purchased from the Husq/Varna dealer. I have purchased from Emb Library and they are nice designs, but most are very stitch intensive and can be a bit tricky to stitch out so let us know if you need advice on stitching anything out.

Re: Designer 1 help
Thank you Lola, can I type it into Microsoft word and save it to a disk and load it like that ?

Re: Designer 1 help
HI Kim-
sorry I didn't get back yesterday. We were outside all day getting things going. I agree with Lola. I find it hard to use the discs they provide to do names. It was confusing. It is much easier to use the computer software. My mom's came with tons of fonts in it so you can make some nice designs.

Kim, no you would have to use the software.
How did you download and stitch the designs you stitched out?
Did your machine come with a program that you loaded onto your computer?
The Husq/Viking programs are names such as Customizing, Customizing Plus, 3D and 4D. The Customizing/Plus would be on floppies and the 3D and 4D would be on CD.

Re: Designer 1 help
I downloded buzzdemo............. but my machine did not come with anything from viking for the computer. Maybe I can use that buzz software ?
-
Re: Designer 1 help
Yes, I think you can....there is also another program out there that I think you can use if Buzz doesn't meet your needs, the other one has fonts and things you can buy to build on the software, but I can't think of the name right now.....doesn't that just figure!
I will let you know when I think of it or look it up.....Embird is what it's called. I don't have personal experience with either of them
though, but there are many many groups out there for support. Let me know if you are interested in some sites that sell great designs at great prices.

Re: Designer 1 help

Re: Designer 1 help
Kim, looks like you are doing great. Saw your pictures. Isn't it fun?
I need to get to work, but will still look up how to do words on the embroidery machine because I know we have done that.
Sometimes I figure things out accidently too LOL, as long as it works for you.
