Jelly roll question
Hi I am just about to start my 2nd jelly roll quilt .. The first one I add 2.5" blocks after each strip of the same color fabric I bordered it with.,,,this time around I was thinking about not bordering but maybe adding additional solid cream colored strips....I am just wondering how to do that...would I just add an additional strip after every 2nd or3rd patterned jelly roll strip,,, I was thinking as long as I am consistent on how often I add an additional solid it should look ok, but I wanted to check with the experts.
Thanks everyone.....

Re: Jelly roll question
I would say wherever you add would be ok, as the jelly roll race quilts turn out very random when you are finished. You might want to cut your solid strips in half to increase the chances that the solids won't clump up and end up together. There's really no telling how it will end up. I just think solids grab your eye, and may take away from the prints. There really is no right or wrong way to do it.

Re: Jelly roll question
When I unrolled the jelly roll there was four cream colored prints so I added A solid piece after just those few strips as the color matched so well and the rest I just sewed together as normal. Now i have the one reaaaaaaly long strip and a wicked sore back so I am done for today. I want to drop these two quilts off to the LA shop on Tuesday so tomorrow I will be busy again. Hope everyone is having a fun productive weekend...

20 strips for a baby quilt? How many times do I cut the fold?
