    Default Quilting labels

Where do you ladies get your labels for your projects? I got some from Joannes last week and they were 4 for $1.50. I have some my mom had fifty years ago and it looks like she got 6 for 59 cents. They were woven with "Specially Hand Made By Mother" on them. I guess I won't find any that cheap nowdays yuh? Have any of you tried to make your own with the fabric sheets in the printer? Thanks for any input you can give me. Sam

This is a wee bit more time consuming but one that I will try one day

For my quilts, I make mine on the embroidery machine as well. Actually, I embroider directly onto the backing before I sandwich it to the quilt. I've also made labels, successfully, with the inkjet printer for other sewing projects. I've never purchased store bought labels. I imagine they carry really pretty ones in the stores. I guess quilt shops carry them??????

I bookmarked this page. A good example for making the labels, but what I really like is the little tea cup quilted banner at the top with the quilted steam coming off the beverage. How cute is that? I've wanted to make an applique teapot and cups. This is so cute. I might copy it. I'm good at copying but not so great at designing my own. LOL

I have purchased labels at LQS and have used them. I also make them from fabric (muslin or light colored fabric) that is in the quilt. You can place it in the corner on the back and stitch it down while hand stitching the binding.

I, too, do my own on the embroidery machine and sew them into the binding when it is sewn on.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
