I pretty much (at the moment anyway) make my quilts with blocks and 2,1/2 inch sashings between everything with a 2,1/2 inch matching border around it. I am into FMQ'ing and have been getting better with lot of practice, but...I still am not good on curved lines. So... I meander mostly or outline or SITD. But on a sashing...what do you all do there? I have meandered before, but I always wonder if I am doing to much....meander in the sashing, meander in the block. Right now I am working on a zebra print, pink and black pattern. I put HSTs together with 3/1/2 inch squares. I meandered in the pinks and the black areas and left the zebra without and it is kind of puffy in those areas and that looks good and gives texture and all. But now the black sashings between the squares... I don't know what to do. Quilt is about 54x54, 12, 12" blocks, 2,1/2 inch sashings. I was thinking circles, but I am not good enough yet to make them all good circles and no oblongs or crooked circles if I meander. But was thinking just regular meandering...wiggly lines...might look out of place. And on the story goes!

What do you do in the sashing areas of your quilts?
