Cats Claw : does anyone use one besides me
Was just wondering if anyone else used this cats claw besides me. I seen it many years ago but would not pay the price so hubby made me a couple (in case I lose or misplace one) out of a metal thumb pick and a darning needle. I first used it when I was doing heirloom sewing to keep the gathers even as they went under the foot, but now use it to keep the seams going the right way as they go under the foot.

Never seen one before. I have seen people that used porcupine quills for the same purpose.

I use a medium-sized bamboo skewer. That is a pretty cool contraption though! Even cooler that your hubby made you some!

I have never seen this before. This afternoon, I was having to raise my presser foot over and over to get the seam to go under it. My machine has a knee lifter, but I never use it, so it is up and down manually.

You must be the only quilting member I know who raises porcupines. You need to share, you know.
Where in the world do porcupines live? I haven't seen but one in my lifetime . . . isn't that because they have difficulty mating?
Be warned. I am BORED.
This could be dangerous.
When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
They are usually 90 degrees.
A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

We have them out here someplace. My cat came home with quills in his head once.

I have never seen one of those before. It looks pretty handy! I've been using my seam ripper to guide my seams under the foot.

Iris you lucky woman! What a creative tool your husband made - never saw anything like this. I also use my seam ripper to stuff the seams in. This looks like it would be a great spare "hand" to have.

That is pretty cool, specially the handmade part of it.
Those porcupines are funny creatures, I saw one in Alaska munching on a small tree about ten feet away from me, I took a picture of him and he was so well camouflaged that you can't see him in the picture. I know he was there but it is like he disappeared.
