Default LOOKING FOR FREE APLIQUE DESIGNS

I'm working on a quilt for my daughter. She wants it to be the colors of various fruits and vegetables. I've got that figured out, however, I thought it would be fun to applique some vines on the borders holding fruits and veggies. Anyone have some good websites for free applique patterns that might include what I'm looking for?

No but why can't you just use a broad marker and draw a couple of vines and a fine marker and draw a couple of leaves. Use those as your templates. Google images and take something from there. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Check out Blended Borders: Quilts with a Creative Edge by Pamela Mostek

I bought it at used book store for $3 and has made me $1000s of dollars. People really like this easy applique effect. Looks complicated but it's not.

Thanks! I'll check out the book. Yes, I could probably just draw what I want but it sure would be nice to have a pattern.

I use coloring book images a lot for applique. Googling "coloring book vines and vegetables" and hitting images you get this ...

I don't know if this would be of any help, but here's some ideas to help you:

Appliquéd Vines and Leaves Table Runner - I know this is a table runner, but I'm sure you could incorporate this into the borders for the quilt.

Trailing Vines - An idea that maybe you can work into your quilt...

Even using a technique like this: Scribbled Vine Applique & Stitched

I've pined the last one, that is a neat looking technique that could be worked into any quilt.

I agree. I've made all my own applique patterns, I bet you could too. You can draw out what you visualize and see it you can create it. An original, even more special!

And I do like the Vines and Leaves in the table runner that short posted.

Comic book pages was a great suggestion. For some reason they don't print on this computer. Oh well. I might try to draw my own.

    Rebecca,
Enlarge the photo on the screen to the size you want, lay a piece of white paper over it, and trace the image off of the screen with a not too sharp pencil or a non-bleeding marker.

(The printer went haywire in the middle of one of my projects once, and this was what I had to do to finish it.)
