I always have three or four projects going at a time. I see fabric that leaps off of the shelf at the store and of course I have to buy it and the compliments that go with it, and off starts another project! I suppose I could just stay out of the fabric store until I get everything finished........not!

I am not a planner, so I rarely buy all the fabric I need to complete a project. So...when it's a hassle to run back to the fabric store, or I have to wait for a postal arrival, I go on to another project. Right now, I have 3 going at once, plus a fourth is on hold until the "client" chooses her backing fabric. Some others just can't function like that. So please, just do whatever works for you!

    Quilter's Rules:
#1 Buy fabric - no matter how much you already have.
#2 Sew all day and all night - no cooking allowed.
#3 Start a new quilt before the last one is finished - must return to #1.

I don't have enough room to do more than one quilt at a time...but with other stuff around the house oh boy DO I! Home renos yikes! I started dying my oak cabinets in my main bathroom java coloured four weeks ago..then got sick with a kidney infection and everything just went to he** in a hand basket! Then there is the build-in in cherry on the main floor, our staircase needs rebuilding, and don't even get me started on the basement. uhg.

I came down to my "studio" (makes me sound professional to say that) this morning to work. I found that I couldn't start another project because I'm so close to finishing the current one. I'm going to finish this and then start 2 at the same time :-)

I am feeling a bit of pressure because I have so many things in the works. That does not include things I have fabric for. I started 6 projects at a retreat and have finished one of them. The others are all in various stages of work. I do have two sandwiched and ready to quilt but took the day off yesterday to make a couple of changing pads for my grand daughter, that is soooo much more important than any of the other things.
I took a FMQ class on Tue and want to get some practicing going on but here I am on the computer.....

I have 8 hanging over the banister to be finished and I am working on a RR at the moment. I really wish I worked more serially than in parallel. The chance would be greater that I actually get something done.

Hahaha! I have 2 queen tops, 4 twins & 2 laps that need quilted. Plus 1 PICU quilt, 4 wall hangings or doll size, and 2 mug rugs that need quilted. All are sandwiched and basted and the bindings are ready and pressed on hangers waiting. Then I have fabric cut for a rag quilt, blocks all completed for a 3-d bow tie quilt and blocks all completed for D9P quilt. I also have half the blocks made for a queen log cabin. Oh, almost forgot just did a snow themed JRR with snowflake appliqués - it still needs a batting & backing but the binding is ready. It is more fun to do things in "chunks". I will be getting geared up for a FMQ marathon soon!

I try to only have one at a time. However the DGD's b'day quilt would (hand quilting) start to get to me, and I would set it aside for an evening and make something else. Now I have the other DGD b'day quilt to do, but plan on machine quilting that one. I HAVE to get busy on other things, that I have not had the time to do. Good luck with your plans. Whatever works I say.
