I had to fudge the numbers A LOT to get them the right size. The ruler was helpful only to give me a rough estimate as to where to put the scallops. It did not work as advertised. Make sure you use bias binding. Once I got the scallops cut and bound you could never tell if they were perfectly even, since they were not.

Pretty Cyndi! Is there different brands of the scallop ruler? I was thinking of getting one.

I've got the ruler but haven't used it yet. Are you supposed to cut the scallops before quilting? It's been so long since I read the instructions that I can't remember, but would think that quilting might skew things a bit?

Cut the scallops after quilting. Measure and draw them on carefully before cutting. I was a little nervous cutting into the fabric, but I made the borders wide enough so that if the scallops didn't look good I could just cut them off and bind it straight. I love the look of the scallops on this quilt as it is very girly. I'll try it again when the next quilt calls for it.

Your quilt is so pretty, and the scallops are a delight. You know when we extend ourselves and do something new it doesn't always turn out perfectly but we learn so much. I just machine quilted my very first project today. It certainly isn't perfect, but I had fun and learned a lot. I just may scallop the edges on my next quilt. You have inspired me. Lorene
