Default Easy way to sew a dresden?

Is there a better way to sew the dresden? I have tried the SITD foot and the Blind hem foot. But I can not see where I am stitching or where I need to begin and where I am ending. So when I look at the stitched dresden it looks terrible.Right now I am ripping out about 10 because when I look at the back side it is just a lousy job of stitching and I just can not let it go.
My machine is on as slow as it can go and I have both my Ott lites on.These presser feet just don't let you see anything.
There has got to be an easier way of sewing these and have them look good on the back side as well.
Any tips from all you more experienced sewers on here? Thanks .

    Hugs Ann

Oh Ann, I know what you mean. I had to rip out my Dresdens too because I couldn’t see where to stitch. What I ended up doing was to wear magnifying glasses over my regular glasses. That solved my problem. Some of the ladies have the little magnifing glass on their machines, but I don’t have one yet. Maybe somebody else has a suggestion. I would love to hear what they have to say too. I hope you solve your problem too.

I have never done a dresden and just started dabbling in raw edge applique. Other than use a clear zig zag foot, I don't know what else you could do.

I have been working on a turkey quilt and the feathers are dresdens, Are you using a stabilizer? I usually use a thin piece of paper, like what you would paper piece with. Im too cheap to buy the "real" stabilizer. That might help with your back stitches, as far as seeing the blades, I don't know I feel like my face is an inch away from the machine. I stop every now and again to let my eyes refocus. Hope that helps
