    Default Border Suggestions

This is the chevron quilt I made for my son he picked out the colors and lay out. He wants the border to be black and I am not sure that will mesh well with it, or maybe the black will make the other colors pop. Maybe no border and bind it in black? Thoughts?

I think a thin black border should add to the quilt, that AL READY is beautiful!!

God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The stash to make a quilt to help me cope,
A quilt to give to comfort those I love in times of hurt, fear and uncertainty.
And the courage to keep on sewing when life itself seems held together by a single thread of hope.

Lay some black fabric along the edges and audition it. Then you can determine if it will work or not. You could also lay some white and then some black as suggested above. This is the technique that I use to pick my borders and it hasn't failed me yet!

You have made a beautiful quilt top and I think as said above lay out the fabric and see what pops for you.

I think a thin black border and a wider white border would look striking.

Oh Dena, he made some great color choices! The mottled looking red, blue, orange I think he's right about the black border too! Very nice looking Chevrons already. Great job
