Black will DEFINITELY make the colors pop.

I've learned that when making quilts for kids, they have a very finely tuned sense when it comes to color selection. My niece picked out five different fabrics for the quilt I made her that I thought looked absolutely HORRID; however, when I pieced the quilt together, the fabrics worked very well together!

I think black will look fine. More importantly, though, is that that's what HE wants.

    Quilter's Rules:
#1 Buy fabric - no matter how much you already have.
#2 Sew all day and all night - no cooking allowed.
#3 Start a new quilt before the last one is finished - must return to #1.

Very pretty. I think a thin black border between two white borders would pop. Definitely audition the fabrics and width.

His quilt is lovely and he made great color choices! I would lay out strips of a few colors (one being the black he chose) next to it so he can see what it will look like with different choices and choose the one he likes the best.

I would use the black, the colors will pop. Plus Ive learned with the monsters to just make it their way even when I'm not sure......it's so hard I know, I've been making purses with my daughter the last couple days for her friends birthdays and she wants to sew the whole thing and pick the layouts, I'm just instructing her how to put it together lol

I think the idea of laying out your colours is a good idea. Who knows - he may decide he wants blue instead!
I agree that a thin black line somewhere around the edge will make it pop and maybe a wider white strip too.

What ever you decide it will look lovely - those chevrons are really eye-catching

We put colorful prints in black frames to make them stand out. Looks like this would work in quilts too. Nicely done.

Wow this is beautiful! I think a black border will make the whole thing pop. No matter what you decide it's already beautiful so either way will work
    Thank you,
