Default Have you had this experience with your sewing machine?

My Janome Memorycraft 11000 is acting up. I've had the bobbin case and retainer replaced 3 times now. All of a sudden the machine starts making a weird noise and next thing I know the thread is bunched up underneath the fabric and the bobbin case has literally been picked up and turned wrong in the retainer. I'm also having problems with it just stopping in the middle of sewing while I still have the presser foot engaged. I've even had it doing the opposite as well. It will sometimes continue sewing when I lift my foot off the presser foot. I fear the folks at this repair shop don't know how to fix it. If any of you have experienced any of this and it has been repaired. Maybe you could let me know what the problem was that caused the malfunctioning.

I'm frustrated because all they're doing is replacing the bobbin case and retainer rather than trying to figure out what's causing the problem.

I can't offer any help, but I'm sorry you are frustrated right now! My machine throws little hissy fits too, but yours sounds like an all out melt down!

The only time I have problems with the bunching or nesting is when my top thread comes off the carry thing that goes up and down. Everytime it happens I still don't learn my lesson to look at that first. I hope your problem isn't too difficult to fix

The stopping sewing or sewing after your foot is off the pedal almost makes me think there is a short in your foot pedal someplace.

Rebecca, I get that same problem when I don't wind my bobin correctly. There is one Little Hook/ turn that I missed and it sure wreck havoc when I used that bobbin... perhaps double checking that area of winding bobbins may be the problem. Then after having a "nest" so many times, a bent area underneath may be causing the problems now.

Sure hope you can get this whole thing resolved soon....

The machine sewing after you have removed your foot would make me very nervous...I'm also thinking wire short. THAT I would get checked.

I was having problems with bunching thread and discovered that I was not holding enough tension on my thread when I threaded the machine. So sometimes it would thread okay and others not. Make sure you are absolutely following your manual. I also was putting my bobbin in upside down which meant it would thread wrong and this caused bunching up also. My dealer showed me to hope the bobbin and thread as it forms a "P" then put it in. Hopefully it's something as simple as that with you as well!

My Pfaff used to kick the thread out of the uptake lever and it would cause the bobbin to practically bind up. What a mess.

Then one time, the bobbin case lost its little extender bit and apparently the thread didn't know which way to go.

    Good luck getting it resolved.

This doesn't sound good. If you have double checked and you have threaded bobbin and needle correctly and you have checked for tension. ...and you have checked your manual ... Then you better go in for repair. I don't have your Janome but when my machines give me thread bunching problems, it's because I've threaded wrong....or I need to change to a new needle.

Now if it's stopping when you are giving it power, that's a whole 'nother thing. That needs repair. The two problems may be connected or not.

I hope you can resolve this soon. It's really frustrating to be without a sewing machine.

I would go to a different repair place. a similar thing happened to my friend with her viking embroidery machine. everytime she took it in locally the woman would tweek it and charge her 100 bucks and it would work for a month or 2 . Finally she asked me where else to go and we found another repairman further away but worth it. He replaced her whole bobbin assembly which was worn from so much sewing and did 3 updates she was missing. It has been going like a charm now .

Definitely try another repair guy... Janome dealer if you can find one... this is why computer machines are not my favorite... one feels so helpless when things don't go as they should!!!!
