Re: Ottlights
I have one right by my sewing machine, and a Ott Light wannabe in my bedroom for reading, they are wonderful! I could use another for one more place where I sew where it isn't terribly well lit. I may go to JoAnns to check out this sale myself.

Re: Ottlights
I have a small one by my sewing machine, like Jean, my area is not well lit. The light works well and lights up the needle area of my machine. I should get a floor model that I can put near there too. I have some flourescent lights that DH needs to put on the ceiling - so maybe when we get a nice day he can do that for me.

Re: Ottlights
I don't have an overhead light in my sewing room either. I bought ottlights for the room because it really makes a difference. Depending on the size of the room it may or may not be enought. I would get them and put them by your sewing machine and cutting table and if you need more light buy what you can afford. The colors on the fabrics look so different under the true light of ottlight.

Re: Ottlights
Does any one know how expensive it is for replacement bulbs and how long do they last? I almost got one at JoAnns but never saw any reviews and wondered why they have had them 1\2 price for so long. It is like they are trying to sell all that they had in the store. Second guessing my self and trying not to buy impulsively.

Re: Ottlights
These old eyes ain't what they used to be and my Ott lights help me more than I can say. Best investment after my sewing machine.

Re: Ottlights
They are so expensive that in order to sell them the half off is necessary. I have recently bought one and it does cast a nice bit of light in a place where I am making my own shadow. I plan on getting one of the battery ones soon for my hand sewing chair area. My old eyes need all the light they can get.

Re: Ottlights
I have one Ottlight but I bought it at JoAnns when they had a Black Friday online sale and it was a big one for $40. Haven't seen any that cheap since then. Their "regular" sale prices are still too high for me.

Re: Ottlights
I love my sewing table Ott light!!! Looked yesterday at their sales and am not impressed at the prices. When it goes on a better sale I'd love to get a floor one. They give off True lighting for your fabrics, and great for extra lighting around your machine.
Had mine for over a year and it's on 12+ hour a day... haven't burned out the light yet, so don't know about how long they last?

Re: Ottlights
I love the ottlites as they are true color lights and I can see with these eyes blue from black. I have one next to my machine and a small handheld one I can take to fabric stores

Re: Ottlights
I love them! Can't use mine here because I can't find a 220 volt light bulb for the one I have. So worth the money
-
Re: Ottlights
They are the best - and the bulbs last a very long time - only ever replaced one and I have three.
JoAnn always has them for half off.....or more. I bought one that is supposed to be $229 for about $80 with "sale price" and discount off total purchase coupon.

Re: Ottlights
I just got another one today at Joanns. It's in another one of my sewing corners.

Re: Ottlights
i have one beside my sewing machine. I liked it so much I bought another to sit on the table next to the sofa where I do handwork.
-
Re: Ottlights
You will not be sorry - best thing I ever bought. Don'T KNOW HOW LONG THE BULBS LAST, BUT ITS REALLY LONG AND WHEN YOU NEED TO REPLACE THERE REASONABLE IF YOU USE A JOANNS COUPON. And I wasn't screaming, just noticed caplocks was on and too lazy to retype all this!

Re: Ottlights
I've got two. I do a lot of hand work and love the Ott light.
-
Re: Ottlights
I bought one on sale a while ago (can't remember how much $$) and I use it when I need it. I have good lighting in my sewing room, but when I can't thread a needle, I get out my Ottlight and my needle gets threaded automatically!!!

Re: Ottlights
Here's a link to Joann's current prices on replacement bulbs for Ottlites:
httoL//www.joann.com/search/_ottlite%20replacement%20bulbs/
I have 3 flip ones, a desk one with a magnifier and a floor model. and love them. There is a flip one at two sewing machines and a serger, but I take one downstairs if I'm doing handwork at night. The one with the magnifier is great for ripping out tiny stitches, and the floor model works well beside my cutting table or the longarm. They're lightweight and can easily be moved from place to place. I paid $1 for one of the flip ones at a yard sale. I've had some of them for 10 years or more and the bulbs have never burned out.

Re: Ottlights
After reading several reviews of them on amazon, I don't think I want one. The reviews are very poor. Hoping everyone out there that has them has good luck with them.
