Default when do I square up my blocks?

I have been learning a lot from you guys...I am currently working on a star baby quilt M*QC style. Do I square up before or after I snowball...or both? my first try at this new passion was a chevron...I didn't square up until the end....maybe that was a goof, but it seemed to work, maybe because I did a whole row at a time? Your help is very appreciated. thanks.

You can square up as many times as possible. I found I really needed to do it after snowballing.

I'm struggling with this myself, and hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.
I've done a couple of quilts, and sashed each block, and then squared off each. But of late, I've squared off the block before sashing. OVERKILL? I I'm a smidge off a point, I usually let it ride...
    Do tell.
BTW, I'm not about to enter a quilt in the county fair to be judged...
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

I try and square them just a bit as I go.

I square off before sashing. Sashing is pretty easy to get accurate, so if the block is square, you can sash and move on.

I don't know how experienced you want, I've made 30 or more quilts.

I square up when all block are done before I sash. If you have any that turned out smaller then I square up to that measurement. I try not to trim during because that has messed me up with points before. If I square up blocks with points I put the ruler where I can see how 1/4 for the point will be if I take on down to 1/8 I'm careful when I sew, hope that made sense.

I square just before sashing if I square at all. Not real big on doing that most of the time. I can usually get things together pretty good with a little wiggle here, and a little wiggle there.

I square up the block after it has been made. However I'm curently working on a quilt made with a jelly roll and with the pattern I'm doing I'm squaring up a tiny bit with each row I put on the block. It's similar to a log cabin and the jelly roll strips are not all even so when I put the next strip along the edge of the previous one to sew it wasn't always a straight edge.
