Default Janome walking foot and soft batting

I've started quilting my daughter's quilt and I'm doing echo quilting (I think, like SITD but 1/4 from the seam). I've basted using 505 and some safety pins. The batting I'm using is made from bamboo (!) and is super cuddly. On the back is a used sheet of about medium quality.

I'm using my Janome's walking foot and I know from earlier experience I still might have to help the fabric along, especially since this is a lap sized quilt (about 48" x 48") and so it's larger than the baby one I made before. I started by doing the middle line from one end to the other. I think the fabric is shifting so much, it's like even though I'm using my walking foot I'm still pushing my fabric in front of me. Should I pull more? Adjust the pressure? I tried that a bit but maybe I didn't do enough. What do you think will work the best? I made the second line (about 1,5" away from my first) sewing from the other direction not to twist the whole quilt but of course the same thing happened there and it looks a bit twisted compared to the first line.

I decided to give it a rest for tonight and watch the second episode of the House of Cards remake instead (I soooo loved the original British one!) so as not to wake the kids with my cursing.

I have found bamboo wadding slips a bit more. I suggest you might need to put some tacking stitches in, will help a lot. I use extra 505 and tack it when I use bamboo. Is worth the effort though!

The bamboo batting that I worked with was half bamboo and half cotton; wonder if that made a difference...never noticed any problems with it!

I have a Janome 6500 and use the walking foot for quilting large "queen size" quilts with no problem . I would try to adjust the pressure of the foot and see if that helps.

I will give it another go. I don't think basting it more (tacking stitches) will help in the long run as it pushes the fabric practically every stitch. If I can't get the technique right I'm of a mind to just rip the seams and meander instead, that way at least I will push the fabric in all directions instead of just one.

I was told when I bought my Janome not to push or pull the fabrics, if you are having to do that, you probably do need to make some adjustments.
