I really want one of these rulers. I have to cut strips and 5" squares for my next 2 quilts and really hate that part of quilt making. I hope I can find a good sale or coupons when the time comes.

Ooh l hope you can get one it's awesome makes it so much easier
That's good to hear, I'm waiting for mine and tapping my foot because Amazon has been so slow on shipping!
I received mine from Amazon last week, but haven't had a chance to use it yet! I'm glad it is working well for you.
What size did you get? I have the 12 x 12 which I love, but would really like to get the "pro" - the largest one.
I have the pro and it is my favorite ruler! Do hate when i have let others use it and they nicked the entry slot!!! The rotary blade can get stuck in there,So be careful and don't let just anyone use it:) LOL.
I love my JT ruler too.
I was jus tlooking at the instruction silmfs earlier today and sent this off to Madampolo who posted them, but maybe you all can help too :)
I have just a few questions before seriously considdering shedding out the mucho dinero they will cost me:
Can I use them with my regular cutter or do I need a smaller/thinner one?
Do they move a lot when cutting? Seems in the video they lifted at the end of each cut and I worry that makes them move.
They seem way thinner than the rulers I have, isn't it easy to slip out of them when cutting?
I really want something that will help making cutting easier! :)
Oh and Pro or the regular one??
I am so glad you ladies are liking this ruler. I love it, too.
You use your regular cutter with this ruler. No need for anything else.
The ruler doesn't move much at all. I think they lifted the end in the video to show you the cuts they made underneath it. I don't lift mine until I am through cutting.
I started out with the 12 inch one, and just recently got the 18 inch one. The 18 inch one allows you to cut a lot more strips, but it is harder to handle because it is bigger. Nevertheless, it is the one I would recommend since you can cut more with it.
The plastic does get nicked with your cutter. Get an Exacto knife and use it to smooth off the nicks. It doesn't take much to do that.
I don't recall the cutter ever jumping the track on me. I guess it could, but it doesn't usually do it.
Consider getting the HST ruler, too. You will love that, too.
I am in the process of making log cabin blocks. It is wonderful to cut strips with it for the blocks.
I wish MSQC would carry these rulers.
Thanks! :D I'm definatly getting two of them, probably the HST and the Pro. I wish someone in Sweden carried them but I haven't found anyone who does so far.
I bought the Shape Cut Pro first. It's big, and it's great for cutting jelly roll strips and charm squares, but it only has slots every 2 1/2". I later got the Plus which is smaller than the Pro and has slots every 1/2" to cut varying widths. Both take a little practice but they sure make cutting go faster.
This week I buy fabric for a couple projects and next week I buy the ruler. I hope. You have been cutting for years and it makes that much of a difference? Wow.
I have the Shape Cut, Shape Cut Plus and Shape Cut Pro. If you could only buy one I would get the Shape Cut Plus. It is 18" long and has the 1/2" increment slots which makes it my most often used ruler. The JT rulers are on sale at Joanns right now at 40% off, so if you have your 10% Joanns discount card or the 20% off total purchase coupon that is good for Feb 8-9 only, you can get a really good deal. Otherwise, just wait for a 50% off coupon when the rulers are no longer on sale. Definitely worth every penny for these rulers!
I have the shape cut plus - purchased online at Joann's for 50% off and free shipping. I'm not sure I would have paid full price for it, but it probably is well worth it as easy as it makes cutting strips. It came in a big flat box about 3 inches thick, so I imagine shipping overseas would be high. I'm not sure how they figure international postage rates but it's like we are shipping you all gold!
Hi - I'm a newbie trying to get her feet wet in the quilting world. I've been reading about lots of wonderful tools and gadgets and saw your posts about the June Tailor Shape Cut Plus. I was on JoAnn's website a little earlier today and noticed that the 12x18 one is 40% off but as an online special only. Regular $41.99 for $25.19. JoAnn's is offering a special on their shipping but today only. The promo code is nfl47 (in honor of the Super Bowl). Hope to be able to contribute more in time...this is all new to me but I am loving it!
Yes, yes, yes! I have been cutting for years, and this ruler makes all the difference in the world. Also consider getting the HST ruler for perfect 1/2 squares. June Tailor has other rulers, but I don't think I'd buy any of her other rulers, but these two rulers are a must.
Thanks for the tip. I just ordered one from Joann's as it was on sale only online 12 x 18 size. It also said it now has the 1/4" slot as well as 1/2" slot. Let me know how you like it for cutting triangles.
Seems like this will be a great tool for the "tool box".

aawww thxs Grandma G..l've got the quarter cut ruler l'd love the big one but l'm in Australia
I also love mine. I bought mine at WalMart and it was much cheaper than anywhere else.
Hulamoon here is the video l watched before using mine for the first time .........
June Tailor® Shape Cut™ Ruler Demonstration Video

Thanks for the link to the video. I have this ruler, from long ago, but don't use it much. I must remember to get it out and use it more. This looks so fast and easy! I see strips, squares, and HST in my future by the baskets full!
One question I have is that I have this ruler but only the 12" one and when you cut strips how do you keep from getting dips and waves were the folds are?
I definitely recommend the SHAPE CUT PLUS ruler. It's worth it. I also bought the HALF-SQUARE AND QUARTER SQUARE TRIANGLES ruler but I haven't used that very much. It's also good for squaring up blocks.
I am thinking of buying this ruler but I have so many other rulers. Do you use your other ruler along with the this one. I only want to buy one so which one would be the best.
Grace
I just watched the video .... If you need a 5" strip can that be done.
Grace
I have the 18" one and you can certainly cut a 5" strip. It is the one I would buy again if something happened to this one. I use it every time I make a quilt. I am going to try to square up some blocks with it later today. I think it will work well to trim two sides at once and totally square.
It's on sale for 40% off at JoAnn's website. Free shipping till Feb 23 ($35 minimum purchase) with promo code ZBSG054!
Better yet, I ordered from WalMart.com for $25.00 and paid 97 cents for shipment to my local WalMart.
Downside?
I have to wait a week for pick-up...
shame these stores dont ship overseas
Yall are going to kill my dh when I tell you what he did....I found this EXACT ruler at walmart on clearance for $9.00!!!! I grabbed it and he began to fuss at me about spending money, the bills, hospital bills, etc etc blah blah blah...made me feel like dirt so I put it back on the shelf. I even put my $2 fingernail polish back too. I was almost in tears. He was having a bad day and spewed it out on me and when that happens I tend to completely shut everyone out and withdrawl. So today I send him the amazon page showing the price of this ruler. He keeps apologizing and saying I shouldnt have put it back, I shouldnt have listened to him. I'm going to ride this guilt trip to the moon and back! I felt so guilty that day for wanting to spend that money when I know we have hospital bills out there. It has slowed me down a bit with spending money. It's difficult to walk out on a good deal.
I think I will keep an eye out for one too. I hate the cutting part of quilt making, that is why the precuts are great for me too.

Men can spoil any shopping trip. I hate when my hubby comes with me. Lucky for me he hates shopping.
