I wish I could afford the extra for my stash. But considering I need 24 colours, it's a little outside my budget for this quilt lol

Course I'm waiting till you finish so you can write a "Bargellos" for dummies lesson for this blonde :0
Debbie
lol Her book is almost like a version of "Bargellos for Dummies", it's awesome! She has diagrams and everything! Girlie thought of ALMOST everything! lol I will still be taking pictures though, not letting this one go undocumented because it may be the only time I'm crazy enough to make it lol

Dee......it's going to be beautiful....love that pattern. Now I want to make one! Can you use the Bali pops batik jelly roll sets? The colors would already coordinate with each other. If that won't work I think I would let the LQS people help you coordinate the colors.......sometimes "new eyes" helps.........you probably have a headache from trying to pick out colors!

It's super simple to make! Even in the book she says it's the easiest pattern and there's almost no waste because all 24 colours repeat evenly. I could use bali pops, but I need 7 of each colour and there are 24 colours so I'd have to buy 7 packs unless there are doubles, and then I'd still need 4. Yuck. lol I'm thinking I'll probably hand the book to the LQS and just let them pick because I think I've looked at so many colours and variations that I'm just making myself more confused lol
Re: Bargello? Batik? Jelly Roll? HELLLLLLLLLP!!
I find shopping online for fabric to be almost as overwhelming as going to a fabric shop except you can't touch the fabrics. I'm with you..I'd end up going to the LQS also.

"Each scrap bag has 12 quarter-yard cuts (three yards) of assorted cottons similar to those shown."

I made a french braid quilt that had the colors blending. I usually buy yardage.I'll run around the store with all these bolts of fabric in the cart side by side until I'm satisfied...usually an all afternoon adventure.( But I love it 0

I know. I have a "touch screen" laptop, and yet I still can't touch the fabric. No fair lol

My LQS isn't big enough to have carts lol I'm thinking yardage from LQS as well because I can buy a half meter, which is 2" bigger than I need, and maybe if I ask nicely they'll square it up a little before they cut it off so then I shouldn't have to lose much to straightening it at home and then I'm only buying 12 meters as opposed to 24 yards. I checked with one local shop (not my usual place but another one) and they have batiks for $17.99 a meter. Don't see that happening lol But I will try with my usual shop, see if they carry them and how many limbs I have to chop off in order to pay for them lol
