I think the blocks end up 6" square, just multiply that by how wide and long you want your lap quilt to be.
7 across and 8 down would be 42" by 48", you could then add borders to make it big enough for a lap quilt. She added two borders, one narrow (probably started with a 1-3/4" strip) and one wide, I think she used a 5-6" strip. So you would need to make 56 blocks. Adding your borders would make it about 54" by 60" perfect lap quilt size.

From what I seen without the borders, it is a twin size....
It is 10 blocks across, 12 blocks down and I think each block measures approximately 6" x 6" (hope I did my math right).. lol
