    Default Red Minky fabric

I am making a first birthday present for my nephew. It will be Thomas the Train on one side and red minky fabric for the backing. I am going to wash the red fabric to prevent bleeding. My question is: Is one wash sufficient or should I wash multiple times? Has anyone had experience using this fabric before? I would appreciate any insight regarding it not just about the washing issue. Thanks

For bleeding, wash the red minky with color catchers (maybe 2). Depending on how much die is on the CC's would decide if I would wash again. If they're deeply red, then yes, keep washing til the CC's (new ones) are about color free.

Personally wouldn't wash the minky due to the amount of fraying. I would just wash the entire thing with a couple of color catchers after it is finished.

Minky is a synthetic blend. I doubt it will run. I'd certainly wait until everything was completed and wash with color catchers.
