    I use some preprinted... just sign and date before sewing them to my quilt...
    Getting lots of ideas from ya all....so I'll lurk a bit.

    Oh 1 more thing to think of -- IF you are selling to the public, you must also "tag" fabric with Made IN (country), the fabric content (100% cotton), and Washing Instructions -- at least those 3 parts are Federal Law -- the name of your store isn't important to them, BUT it is to me :-) So I can remember where I bought something from.

    For your quilts going to family members, the move is to put Your name, the person who is receiving it, town/state is was made in and the date. Other details like item made for B-day etc.. is ok too. Can't find the link about this movement to ensure OUR quilts will be labeled for those future generations, but google it.
