Concentrate on trying to make your stitches even rather than small. A great quilting stitch has the same amount of space between the stitches as the size of the stitch, like this: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - smaller stitches and speed will naturally come with practice...lots of practice. I always use a lubricant for my thread...Stitch Heaven is the best I found. It prevents shredding and tangling. Barb
