Kazzie - if you felt that you had a lot of drag when you were quilting, try putting a piece of vinyl over your machine with a cut-out for the needle and feeder feet area. Tape it down with a double-sided tape and try that before investing in a slider. Also, several have used styrofoam from shipping packages to build up an area around their machine to level it out and give you more room to maneuver your quilt when you are doing FMQ.
Just a couple suggestions to see if you want to go the route of either a slider or an extension table . . . before putting out the cash.
