    Question D4P Block Question:

When you are reassembling your cut and moved pieces, do you use a full 1/4" or a scant 1/4" seam?

When you sew your cut pieces back together, do you go horizontally or vertically?

Does vertically give you a crisper block as opposed to rejoining the pieces horizontally?

I'm wondering because I've done 2 completed blocks for my queen size quilt, horizontally doesn't seem to be giving me the cleanest finished block. (Not that I think you would notice once the top is finished...but still.

    Thanks!

I think you should do it they way that is easiest and most accurate for you. I doubt that it matters as long as you get the blocks together.

I usually go across then down. Either way, I try to be consistent so I can press the seams in alternating directions per row. I like them to nest during row assembly.

As for seam allowance, as long as your blocks are the same size and you use a consistent seam, all should come out OK. Do you square your blocks? I do.
