    Default Question ?

Usining my 8" Dresden I cut out 20 pieces from some old material I had and want to make a table topper just for practice. Do I still fold the rights sides together and sew 1/4" across the top before sewing the pieces together? I am thinking I do but don't trust my own judgement.
I' like to avoid any ripping out if that is at all possible. Thanks for any and all advice.Hugs Ann
Oh I finally was able to order the 10"Dresden ruler today
I have been waiting to hear from the MQshop because I couldn't find one and just got my answer today.

There are three way to do a Dresden. One way is the way you did - folding it and sewing 1/4 inch. That makes a point. If you don't sew it like that, you will end up with a circle. You can also cut the ends rounded like shown on the ruler which makes pedals. I think the way you did is the easiest and prettiest.

Ann, I love the pointed Dresdens and they are made by putting the right sides of the wide end together and sewing from the cut edge to the fold. Use something pointy to push the point out and press, centering the seam. When you sew the individual blades together, begin sewing from the pointed end toward the center, just in case you're off a little. Any boo-boo's will be covered up by the center circle. Happy Drezzing....Barb
