Dresden Plate block
Evening all !
I been to my 1st quilt/craft show today . OMG im glad i didn't take any credit/debit cards with me ! It was like letting a kid loose in a candy store
I got so many ideas and inspirations for future projects ..Bought 25 fat quarters ! And a large cutting mat ..And a few other bits and pieces including a Dresden cutting template ..My question is ..
How big do i need to cut the petals to sew it onto a 12 inch block ? The 12 inch blocks are being sewn together as part of a sampler quilt ..
Thank you !
Mindy

I think you would be ok with a 3.5 or 4" blade. The hole in the center is usually about 3 inches across and you don't want the plate to come all the way to the edges of the 12" square.

Someone posted that a while back (I'm sorry, I don't remember who! But thank you whoever you are!) and I saved it because I knew it would come in handy for just such an occasion
Click it to make it bigger, tells you what size blade goes with what size block.
