Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
I thought about cutting some of these frogs out in circles for a kids COC quilt.....with a bright colored background. Are the frogs too creepy....would they scare a child? Honest opinion please.....I can't decide.

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
I'm working on 2 tops right now, probably will end up sending them to Marilyn, and both have frogs. I don't think they would creep kids out at all.

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
I think they are cute! very bright and colorful...I don't think they'd scare them...but this is coming from someone who loves everything dark and Halloween...so I'm not the right one to ask :)

Little boys love frogs. My oldest GD was a frog catching fool when she was little. So yes, use the frogs.

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
I love frogs too!
Frog story--in the early 90's DH and I dug a small decorative pond in our back yard. It took a while to get it finished, but once we got it all tricked out with a little waterfall, our own version of a filter (this was pre "pondmania" days!), and a bunch of gold fish, we captured some tadpoles and threw them in. Well, they quickly metamorphosed into full size green frogs, and sang their hearts out every night. Our bedroom was in the front of the house, so we didn't hear the nightly chorus, but our daughter's bedroom was right next to the pond! She complained bitterly about the noise that went on all night long! One day, we heard a tree frog chirping near her room. It was early morning, but the sound was really close to her bed! A tiny tree frong, not 1" long had worked its way into her window casing and was sitting on top of the window pane chirping his brains out! What a surprise to see him inside the room! I could then see why she was complaining!
Did you know that frogs are fast disappearing in the wild, and some day we won't have them? Cherish them while they are still here for us to admire and listen to!
And they are so cute on quilts!

Okay, I have to tell my good frog story. My mother opened a ceramic shop when I was about 13-14 years old. And, given that I suffered greatly from the very thought of tree frogs, she found a small frog mold and made me a little green frog. I set the ceramic frog on my radio in my bedroom. When I would return from school the frog would be off the radio and on my dresser. I totally convinced myself that the frog was possessed and was hopping off the radio onto the top of my dresser.
One weekend I was in my bedroom cleaning and had the radio on . . .and the frog hopped off onto the dresser. Turns out that the radio reception caused enough vibration in the radio and the vibrations would cause the frog to 'hop' off.
So, no more 'possessed' frogs for me.
That's not why tree frogs bother me though. Regular frogs and toads? LOVE THEM!!!!

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
Since we are swaping frog stories. My daughter lives on the big island and when I talk to her I hear these in the backround.

I would ask what is that and it's mom it's the frogs. lol

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
I think the frogs are great! I don't think they are scary. I even asked my four boys ranging in age from 6 to 13.

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
Cut those frogs into circles! I'm collecting animals for COC and for Marilyn's NICU/PICU. Kids love frogs, especially little boys! The slimier the better. lol :D

Ceramic frogs are the only ones I see around here lol There is a pond down at the bottom of the hill, so I would imagine there are some frogs down there (of the large, green variety of course) but I keep a ceramic frog on my front step. Not sure why, just saw him and thought he was cute :) Plus my house is green, so he kinda matches :D Can't say I've ever seen a tree frog, other than pictures.

I bought the fabric at a estate sale last year for practically nothing! :D You maybe could find some online. The company name on the selvage is The Cranston Collection.
Thanks for all the comments and frog stories from everyone!

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
Happy you decided to use the frogs. Love frogs!:D

Re: Opinion Please...Frogs Yes or No
Absolutely not. I use frogs and bugs and bees and worms and lizzards and all such things in my boy Linus quilts.

Lol, that reminded me of how I used to catch frogs at my grandparents house in the summertime, and put them in a coffee can (let them go of course later) and it took me a long time to realize that "frogs dont actually smell like coffee"! (smart I know)
But like everyone else has said, the frogs are great and so much fun! I cant wait to see what you make :)
