Here is one I did for my dad using 1 Charm pack (bowling stuff cuz he likes that)... Different tut but you can see it's a nice sized lap and not baby looking :-)

Log cabin is nice, easy, and mature looking. My wife and I did a log cabin based on Eleanor Burn's book for our first quilt and it turned out really nice. Our gracious hosts also have a great how-to video about doing this block. The block she makes in the video is a little different from the E.B. way but both are beautiful and offer a lot of options.

Here is some eye candy to show some other possibilities with this block...

The ladies have suggest a disappearing 9 patch, I have 2 that I am currently working on, 1 for my grandson and 1 for my cousin.
    Its easy and fairly quick.

He is a truck driver, and just got done with his cancer treatment. And Thank the Lord is cancer free as of Dec. 1, 2012.

Everyone is correct, its the fabric you choose that will determine if its for a child, teen, or adult.
