    Default Machine woes...

The other day, my new-to-me Janome sewed like a dream. And maybe a bobbin change was involved, but out of nowhere, I started getting all 'buggered-up'. Birds nest knots. Clanky sound.
Off to my repair person, I go. Immediately she points out I have the wrong bobbin size. Am I really that gifted, to have used the wrong bobbin size? Turns out, I was.
So she made everything better, and off I went. First order of business today, was a practice on my satin stitch, and blanket stitch for applique. No problems.
Immediately, upon switching out to a straight stitch, same old problem. Now, I feel that the bobbin casing wiggles around a bit, but repair lady kind of blew me off when I mentioned it.
    What gives? ANYONE? ANYONE?
    Thank God I have a back-up!
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

Try a fresh needle. My repair person suggested I change mine every 4-6 hours of use. I was piecing all day, and sure enough I had to change at hour 6 and the problem was solved.

Sue, either you jinxed me, or I jinxed you. I sure hope you don't find out that someone got rid of your 'new' machine because it had issues. When I hear strange noises I stop and go through the routine of re-threading, reinserting the bobbin, changing the needle, and cleaning. Normally I will find that I've done something just a bit off and then all is well . . . not so much for me today though.

I agree - sometimes the needle may not be inserted just right - you know, hold your mouth wrong and the world will fall apart.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Been there and done that....have changed the needle, rethreaded, change out the bobbin...and clank clank, forgot to drop the pressure foot....or something stupid....when I change out my needle I rotate the wheel and listen for a clunk, no clunk and I know I have the needle positioned correctly!

My stupid thing was when the needle thread came off the thing that goes up and down. Everytime my machine went wonky that's what it was. I alway's forgot to check that first and never learned. Some times I keep the cover up so I can keep an eye on it. I finally took some pliers and squeezed it together. lol

I hope you find out what's wrong.
