Default Possibly wanting to dabble into FMQing...

I've been listening (reading) all about FMQing and what not. But was hoping someone on here knows of some free videos on youtube from one person who does FMQing how to's. From start to finish if that is at all possible. I just want to start small at first which I'm sure most is how they get started but yeah, lol.

I have just a normal Janome sewing machine, so nothing big and fancy if that makes sense.

But if anyone wants to pass along some information, how to set up your machine and etc that would be very helpful and appreciated!!

Thanks and looking forward to getting some much needed information!!

I found it hard if not impossible to find out the setting that your sewing machine should be on .. Every machine is different and i got lots of good advice on here ..
I will add that you need a open toe quilting foot , one that is made for your machine . I bought a ' generic universal ' one and had lots of problems and it even knocked the timing out on the machine which them cost me a lot of money to put right so buying a cheap quilting foot wasnt a clever idea
It seems we all turn our stitch length to zero .. Its just a case of trying it out on a spare quilt sandwich to see what settings your machine is best on ..
Then write it down ! Cuz i never remember the settings once ive sewed normally !

Hi CJ........several others have mentioned Leah Day. Here is a length to helpful info I looked at last night......not a video.......but pictures & info. The 2nd link is to a year long FMQ challenge from last year. It has looks of videos and info and you could do they challenge on your own if you wanted to..........I'm thinking about doing that myself.
