    Default Toddler Quilt/Straight Line?

Okay, I'm working on a quilt for my almost born great grandson.

    Toddler Quilt/Straight Line?-kalebs-quilt.jpg

I am thinking of quilting it using the straight line method. Never done it before but I like the looks of it and it seems it would be quite easy and quick. I will use painters tape for my lines. What do you guys think. Please be honest and open. If you have ideas for me please let me hear them. This quilt will have a brown border on it.

Thanks for any input! Love you guys... you are always here when I can't decide!

It is very pretty and I think it would look great quilted either straight lines or meandering whichever you feel like doing. I enjoy doing straight lines using painters tape. It works out really good. I've been stuck on stippling lately but want to do some with straight lines soon.

I'm not sure I understand straight line quilting...so do all the lines go one way or do they criss cross?

However you want it to go, Kapree! Maybe on the diagonal, maybe not. I think the key is some form of straight line.

Illine, your quilt makes me happy, happy, happy! Very fun fabrics. I LOVE it!
I really need to get off the exclamation point.
It may give people the idea that I'm bright and cheerful all the time....

I really love Xs & Os. Yes, yes, please explain straight line quilting using painters tape. Where have I been? I have a UFO Xs & Os table runner using Farmers Market charm pack. Would love to try the painters tape method on this little project and get it finished. Please explain.

Well, if I understand it right, straight line can go however you want it to. I plan on doing straight lines in one direction "cati-cornered" and then the other direction which would result in a pattern of diamonds through out the quilt. For instance lines doing this "/" then crossing lines doing this "\". Don't know if this makes any sense but I sure hope so!

Cross-hatching is the straight line quilting on the diagonal (both directions like you are planning) and I think it would look great on this quilt. Fun colors for a baby. I like the non-traditional colors, tired of blue and pink.

Yes! That's It... CROSS HATCHING! How far apart do you think I should go with my diagonal lines? Suggestions?
