This isn't necessarily "quilting or sewing" related question. But it's just before sewing, Ha...

I was hoping someone could help me out. I'm making a rag quilt, and because it is for an adult I'm making the rag quilt with a cotton top and cotton bottom and flannel as the middle piece. I hope that makes sense?

Anyways!! lol

I don't normally wash my fabrics before making the quilt and this is the first I've done it.

My question is, last night I washed my first fabric in a gentle cold water cycle and then am drying it now in a gentle cycle as well. Also when I washed it, (which I hope is okay to do) I put it inside a pillow case because I heard that can help with keeping it get all tangled or something like that. I also did the same thing for the dryer, kept it in the pillow case.

Now, I am doing each fabric uncut by their selves because I do not have any color catchers, and do not know what I can use as a substitute. So I'm doing each fabric that I'm using for the blanket by itself. Ha, the pillow case I'm using was a cheapy so I'm not too worried if it comes out red, blue or anything like that. It's tan lol so it won't bother me any ha.

Am I doing everything okay and good to continue? lol
