    Default I spy quilt

I was wondering what is the best best design for one of these? I saw one in the albums but can't find it now. Can you share some of your's? I have a new grand daughter and it would be perfect for Christmas. I have a ton of childrens fabrics so I won't have to buy too much . Thank gosh. LOL

You can do a Bug in a Jar pattern - Half Pint or Half Gallon

Jenny has a tutorial on it - She calls it the I Spy Jar Quilt, the links below

I watched that one before and I think I want something a little more simple, thanks though. Maybe I should just do four inch blocks?

I would do a bigger block because it would get pretty busy looking - 6" also wouldn't cut up the prints too much. You can add sashing to lay it out in a cute way.

I have some in my Album for the Twins and one I called Modern Lolly Pop.

I think any quilt that has a lot of squares where the print shows up well will be good for an I Spy Quilt.

I made an Ispy quilt some time ago using 1 x 4 1/2", 1 x 3 1/2 squares and 4 x 2 1/2 x 3 1/2" strips. You join 2 of the strips to the 3 1/2" square, sew the other 2 strips together and then sew the piece of 2 strips to one side of the 4 1/2" square, join the strip with the 3 1/2" strip down the other side so the original 4 1/2 in square is surrounded on 2 sides. I use a different fabric to sash the I spy squares, this seperates them out so its easy for a child to pick out the figures etc on the fabrics.I spy quilt-001.jpgI spy quilt-002.jpgI spy quilt-ispy-quilt-001.jpg I do know if you can make head or tail of the photographs and the diagram. I used 2 1/2" strips between my blocks but you can use any width you like to make the blocks larger.
