I ordered batting from Missouri Star....Hobbs Heirloom Premium blend batting (80/20). I want to use it for the baby quilt I am making. It seems to be thin. Will that be o.k or do I double it to make it thicker. I need help.
Thank you

Grace, unless you live in the Arctic I don't see any problem using that batting in a baby quilt. If you are wanting something with more 'fluff' to it you may want to look at a polyester with a higher loft. Look at this site for some descriptions that will help you:

Be warned. I am BORED.
This could be dangerous.
When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
They are usually 90 degrees.
A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
That batting is fine in a single layer. I have a quilt that I sent to MSQC to be quilted and that is what they used. Once it was washed it was pretty much the same as Warm and White.

I am using a low loft batting in all the baby quilts I am making for the hospital. I think it will be fine. It is also easier to machine quilt than a higher loft batting.

Grace,
A single layer will work fine for your baby quilt. The batting is lightweight but warm. Barb
