    get some type of clear tape. Static tape or glow tape is great for this, it comes in 1/4" wide rolls in neon colours. I think Omnigrid makes some. It has no adhesive on it. If not, use other tapes instead. Place a couple strips on your 6" square at the 4.5" lines or just beyond so you can see the lines. Place your ruler over the area you want to fussy cut and cut two sides, then turn the ruler around and cut the other 2 sides.
