Make a 4.5 inch template out of cardboard or template plastic (template plastic can be found in quilt shops--it's not hard acrylic like the templates you buy on MSQC -- it's a flimsy plastic like a milk carton -- you have to be careful not to shave pieces of your template off when you use template plastic).
