Default Binding question - different fabrics

When binding a quilt has anyone ever used a strip from each of the different fabrics that is in the quilt? I have eight different fun fabrics and thought about using strips from each to make my binding. I also thought this might make it look like I ran out of material, kinda "patchy".

I love the look of a scrappy binding. Here's a picture from one of my albums where I used strips leftover from a jelly roll quilt to use as the binding. http://forum.missouriquiltco.com/alb...chmentid=18660

I often use strips of fabric to make the binding. If you look at my album I am pretty sure I have at least one in there that has that. Just got through making a little quilt out of leftover squares and did the entire binding out of them as well. Sewing 4" blocks of varying colors together for the binding. It is a wonderful way to use leftover strips from your quilt. So go right ahead and do it however you want.

I LOVE 'scrappy' bindings. If I have strips, I sew them together with a diagonal seam so that it isn't so bulky when I'm hand-stitching the binding down.
