    Default Pattern Ideas please

I'd love to make a quilt for our room soon and have a stack of red and cream fabrics 3 dark red, 4 mid tone, 6 cream base with red/pink/brown patterns) - each piece is approx 1/3 yard wide and WOF + 2 larger pieces of about 1 metre - 1 is red with black script and the other a maroon with gold flowers. Our bedroom is fairly neutral cream/grey with burgundy and gold oriental style flower curtains.

Tried to attach a picture but when I click manage attachments nothing happens!
Maybe these links will do instead.

(The maroon one with gold flowers is not nearly so 'purple' in real life)

I love your fabric choices and when you figure out what to do with them........could you help me out with mine? I'll be interested to see what the others suggest!

I quite fancy a 'magic square' one but with smaller squares than Layer Cakes. If I cut 8" - 9" squares I should have just enough left over from each piece to do the block borders.

    Any other suggestions?

    Jane,
Your fabrics are lovely, I think the magic square would really showcase your fabric,

Hi, Jane. First your photos are way to big to load here... resize and try them again.. I do love that fabric!!!

Here are a few links to block patterns that you may want to consider... Please let us know what you decide.

oh oh oh I know what I would do with these fabrics......It looks like you have a lot more of the plain red than the others........ I would do 10 minute blocks! Use a different print for the centre of each block and keep the four outside squares plain. Kepp one print to boarder the blocks. Utterly divine!

I have no suggestions for a pattern but your fabrics are beautiful! I need (want?) that one with the bird on it. It is in the bottom left corner. Can you tell me who the manufacturer is and/or where you purchased it???

Sorry about that - don't know what happened there were OK last week!

Must have pressed the wrong button somewhere - will have to fathom out how to change them back to regular size again.
Managed to paste a smaller one but no idea how to resize all the others in my albums which have changed.

.... and another one for the family room. I think a disappearing 9 patch might work and I'll pick out a plain darker brown for the centre square to echo the pastel colours edged with brown in my hand knotted Turkish rug.

The carpet is cream, pink, pale green, pastel blue, coffee and a little brown

This is the only information I have - bought it at Patchwork-by-Sea in Brighton, Adelaide, South Australia!
