Glad you figured it out I was going to suggest the bigger needle as that is what worked for my babylock version.

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
I have a Juki 2000 and recently purchased the 2010. I am keeping the 2000 to piece and will use the 2010 on my Grace SR2 frame. Got it all assembled and have a quilt on it ready to go. I will watch the video because I haven't been able to auto thread either machine. I really need to learn because I can't see that needle hole for nothing. It can take me 15 minutes for me to get the thread through. I even purchased a magnifying glass!
I have had my Juki for little over 2 years . I can't figure out the auto threader, messed with it so much it fell off. I gave up and threw it in a drawer.
I've been able to thread each time I use the auto threader. Maybe it's just beginner's luck.
I have the predecessor to your machines, the Juki TL98e. It has no needle threader at all. So I keep a high-quality metal-loop threader in my accessory bag, and I use that every time I need to re-thread.
