Quilting Quickly Rumors- Got the facts if anyone is interested.

Fons & Porter will continue to publish Quilting Quickly but M* will be in no way involved.

M* will continue to sell there own patterns.

Although M* would love to publish their own quilting magazine it is a "dream world" idea at this point. It is something that they would love to do someday but nothing is happening anytime soon with that.

Um, Lisa just pretty much told you.

Quilting Quickly will be published in the future but Jenny Doan and MSQC will no longer be associated with it. Nothing more to tell.

My guess is it is due to one or two reasons. Fons and Porter may feel they would sell more magazines if the patterns weren't available as free tutorials online. Or Jenny may not have the time to have to come up with a certain number of new patterns for a specific publishing deadline. I personally like to refer to the tutorial and the magazine because they each explain the quilt in a different way. Thank you to Jenny, and the Doan family, for everything they do for us online and in print!

I think, I remember back when the first issue was coming out that they said there would be 4 issues. They likely had a contract with F&P for the 4 issues and now they've been published.

I have never made a F&P quilt. For some reason their quilts don't appeal to me. I love Quilting Quickly because they support the tutorials on M*. Without Jenny I won't bother buying it anymore. I do, however, love Quilty by Mary Fons (Marianne's daughter). I get some bright fresh ideas from her magazine.

Thanks Lisa! I'm grateful to watch them on You-Tube because I really like seeing how things are done, a visual learner.
When they eventually do publish, at least those Quilts will be the same name as the tutorials not changed like in Quilting Quickly. Glad they are done with Fons and Porter :-)

I was trying to find the Broken Dishes pattern in the magazine and knew it there but was having a terrible time.....the name had been changed.

That must be new because when it was Jenny you couldn't subscribe. It will be years before M* does do their own magazine but we at least know it will be great.
