Hi Debbie, This is definitely the place for you to be! I have learned just about everything (re: quilts) from Jenny. Find one of her tutorials that you are interested in, and she pretty much talks you through it all. Using pre-cut fabric, like Missouri star sells, makes it pretty easy to start a project. A nice and easy pattern that many of us have made is the Disappearing Nine Patch Quilt. VERY easy.
    Check it out.

    Hi Debbie, welcome !

I have learned there are different techniques (the old way, & new ways) but I don't think there is a rule book.
That's why starring helps us all. Learn the basics, Jenny's tutorials helped me. These girls has been a huge help. We will try to help you as you go.

I started by piecing nine patches together, then I would pick a block and make it and sew on.
I hand piece most all mine because it's so good to relax and sew, very therapeutic.
If you need any thing , just ask. Share your progress. Have fun.
I do recommend a good steam iron, for pressing seams.

    Nice to meet you.

Hello and welcome from Wisconsin! I have been quilting for many years and I would tell you have no fears about learning to quilt--anybody who can make a wedding dress can make just about anything!! I would never ever be able to do that so I am really impressed. Quilting is so fun and addictive. There are so many wonderful fabrics out there and patterns galore. Everyone on the Forum is friendly and incredibly helpful so don't ever hesitate to ask about anything. Glad to have you with us!!
