Konichiwa! It is really nice here if you can deal with the humidity and bugs! It's so safe here, there is virtually no crime. Sadly, if there is crime, usually an American is involved. Everyone is incredibly polite and customer service is top notch, the Japanese are so eager to please! I have not been back to the states since I've been here, I'm sure I'll be in for a big surprise. Americans can be very rude, unfortunately. I haven't learned much Japanese, just enough to kind of get by. I'm still immersed in most things American since were are a military family. Someone posted an interesting article about the English language recently, they were right, it's quite...difficult...if you are not familiar. I definitely miss my American comforts that I've had to go without but when I get back to the states there will be a lot I'll miss from here. Probably, mostly the food. Thanks for writing!
Hi Tricia, How lovely to be living in Japan. I wish I was there. I'm under 'house arrest' as I have 2 teenage sons who think anything to do with Mum is boring. I used to work for a Japanese company in the UK and found it easier to learn Japanese then to struggle with English. That was a good few years ago and I think I might have forgotten it all by now!
