Thank you so much for your comments about my quilts. I also looked through your album and you have some great quilts there. I really like those totes too.
Thank you so much! Afterall was said and done, it came out better than I thought it would and Mom said she threw it over a chair and said no one is allowed to touch it.........LOL. I told her I washed it three times, so USE IT! You can't hurt it!
Just looked at your album and all I can say I wow. Some day maybe I will be that good.
hi Mary - please do not let one post from one swapper rule you out from EVER joining a swap - especially a swap that I am hosting There is so much more love and fellowship and kindness to be found in our fun play together / lets all get along swaps. As you can see from the pictures of the quilts that are going together and hear in the "voices" of the ladies who are playing with their blocks - MUCH more of them are very happy withe results than the 1 that was not. Please consider playing with us - it really is fun and we will love to have you!! hugs, Suzi
Hi Mary, I checked the purse closely and found that it wasn't a ruffle after all. It was elastic that made it look like a ruffle. Stupid me!! It is such a beautiful bag, it has oodles of pockets inside, is stiff enough to hold its shape, has pockets on the outside with a rhinestone type button on it and a big bow. It is made of fairy fabric in a pink and silver with burgandy sides and a green interior. Good fabrics were used. I think it cost my mom and sisters about $40 which now that I look at it, I can understand. It was made by my sister's boss. I think I finally found the pattern on "Nancy's Notions". I'm going to look at her totes section again and figure it out. Thank you again for showing me the url's. I did check them all out. Piece and blessings, Vicki
Hi again, I'm glad you are home. We sure need rain here, maybe tomorrow. I can't say I hate the weather we are getting - I LOVE it! I hate winter, and this is like living in the south - BUT we are very dry here. So you have a long arm! Exciting! Does he piece tops too? I hope you can learn too if you want to. My home machine is a Viking - a Sapphire 835 I got for my birthday a few months ago. I really like it so far. It has a bigger throat so it is easiet to machine quilt the bigger ones. Talk soon! PS - I'm called the Queen around here too
Hi Mary, Well, I checked out fabric.com and ordered some muslin for my hubby to practice on his longarm---sort of a longarm, it is a Viking. Nice setup. We bought it new 5 years ago and never used it. He took lessons on it 3 years ago and it still sits. Wish I wasn't sick during the time for lessons. Rainy day today and cold outside. We are home now in Iowa. That was a long two months. Now I can get busy on my Craftsy and M*QC BOM's. All fabric is in and almost unloaded. LOL Ugh!! Well, gotta go and check out on my order. Then I can be on hiatus with you. Piece and blessings, Vicki
"Queenie" LOL--that is what my hubby calls me as we have a turret room built onto an old schoolhouse in the country in Iowa. When I asked for that and he built it then I got a new nickname!! LOL All my friends in CA call me that, too. That was too funny. Thank you for reminding me. Do you think their fabric (fabric.com) is less expensive than ThousandsofBolts.com? Have you ever tried them. They have specials every now and then. There was another one I used to use, too, but I forgot the name and my password. I just copied the patterns---thought I would look at them on the way home this morning. I have just bought lots of fat quarters from M*QC so I can use them for a purse. Two sets are very Asian looking. Have a great week. Piece and blessings, Vicki
Hi Mary, Copied all the url's you gave me but the last one did not come up---don't know why not. Boy, that was a lot of paper!!! Thanks for your help. I will try to incorporate all that was there into one pattern and see what I come up with. Will let you know if I'm doomed to make bags or not!! Piece and blessings, Vicki
PT 3 of my message: Hi Mary, Had to do this in 3 parts as my message was too long!!! I type like I talk!!! LOL I also, today, cut up a layer cake and sewed parts together and it is back to being 9-1/2" now and needs to be cut and sewed again. But, will do that at home also. My husband is so excited that I am actually sewing all this fabric I bought from M*QC!!! He quit griping about all the fabric I have at home downstairs I haven't done anything with. I need to get busy and sandwich and quilt the quilts that are in boxes, too. I want to do one a month and I may get them done by the end of the year unless there is more than I think down there. Down there will be my sewing room eventually. Jim has a lot of work to do "down there" as yet. I want a small sitting area to peruse books, patterns, magazines, etc. Then a cutting area, a storage area, a design wall area, an area for machines as I am bringing my mom's back since I bought it. Piece and blessings, Vicki
