Thanks for the compliment on my Dresden Flower Garden Quilt. I'm pretty please at how it turned out. I made it for my 33 year old daughter and she loves it too.
Judy let me know when you get her to Oahu maybe we can go shopping for material or coffee. Mahalo
Oh Lordy..... after all the hours you put into that quilt.... to have it so stained!!!!!. But it was gorgeous and yep I do remember the name Lee Wards. You really are a talented lady.... and I'm sure Amanda loves it even with all the yellow 'decorations'. At least you have pretty pictures to show how it looked. Hugs to Amanda......too
That quilt took me ages because it was all hand sewn. Made from a kit that came from someplace like Lee Wards (do you remember them?). My granddaughter's other grandmother passed away. No one in the family was interested in quilting so they asked if I would finish it for Amanda. Now Amanda had/has developmental problems and was doing occupational therapy to develop her muscle strength. This involved the use of Thera-Putty - something she manipulated in her hands like you would squeeze a tennis ball or something. Three days after getting it, she got up in the middle of the night, got Thera-putty and 'played' in bed. She left the Thera-putty on the quilt and then wallowed around in it all night long. The YELLOW putty color stained the quilt ALL OVER. Numerous efforts were made including special dry cleaning, all kinds of prewash treatments, etc., and we were never able to remove the yellow from the quilt. All that work and now these huge spots of fluorescent YELLOW . . .
