Donnaleigh, I was just wondering where you live? I think I saw a message where you stated "midwest". We live in Iowa and I am caring for a sister who has cancer and she lives outside of Chicago. Very cold here right now. I am new here and wondering if you would like to be friends? I thought maybe, I would start with a few and kind of settle there unless someone asks me.
I would like to know how to post pictures for an album? I think I could put one together. I wish you had more pictures in your albums. Greedy, aren't I?
Thank you for doing what you do in life!! It is a much needed job. I have a best girlfriend who lives in CA, who does this outside the Redding area. I have a DIL who works at a hospital as an RN and seems to love it. Thank you for your time. Piece and blessings, Vicki

Very nice block, love the colors.
  3. Thanks so much for your comment on my quilt. I made that for my DD & SIL before I found M*QC and the Doan family. Little did I know then - no pattern. I just started sewing. The fabric, I believe, is from 3 Sisters and is out of stock now. I had enough left that this year I made her a matching dresser scarf from it.

I think the first quilt I made was a "Sunbonnet Sue" for my older daughter. She's now 25 so I must have made that quilt for her about 20 years ago. I have done lots of sewing over the years. Quilting has really come to the foreground for me since moving to London for this temporary assignment on which Joe is working. Before we left I had a small sewing business that kept me quite busy for about 3 years. I've also done some sewing for our local musical theatre company. I'm really enjoying the quilting because of the fabrics and the huge variety of quilt patterns.

What is your line of business? It's wonderful to hear someone speak highly about his or her place of employment. You're one of the lucky ones.

Because of the three layers (fabric, batting, backing) there is no need to use stabilizer. That's why I clip it to the hoop. Can you imagine removing stabilizer from the entire back of a quilt? That would not be fun! LOL

Donna, Did you get my response. I typed out how I use my machine to embroider the quilting.
  7. Donna, I bought a case of foam core board at the Dollar Tree. Husband cut each 20"x30" sheet (actually cut the stack at one time on his bandsaw) into six 10x10" pieces. That's what I used. For smaller pieces of fabric I cut some down to 5x10" and used those. The rack I have my stash on came from one of the discount stores and they were throwing it out. Lucky find.
